PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Gears in chemical reaction networks for optimizing energy transduction efficiency

open access: yesNature Communications
Similarly to gear systems in vehicles, most chemical reaction networks (CRNs) involved in energy transduction have at their disposal multiple transduction pathways, each characterized by distinct efficiencies. We conceptualize these pathways as ‘chemical

Stochastic thermodynamics of rapidly driven systems

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
We present the stochastic thermodynamics analysis of an open quantum system weakly coupled to multiple reservoirs and driven by a rapidly oscillating external field.

Dynamical Temperature from the Phase Space Trajectory

open access: yesHungarian Journal of Industry and Chemistry, 2017
In classical statistical mechanics the trajectory in phase space represents the propagation of a classical Hamiltonian system. While trajectories play a key role in chaotic system theory, exploitation of a single trajectory has yet to be considered. This

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Double quantum dot coupled to a quantum point contact: a stochastic thermodynamics approach

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
We study the nonequilibrium properties of an electronic circuit composed of a double quantum dot (DQD) channel capacitively coupled to a quantum point contact (QPC) within the framework of stochastic thermodynamics.

Statistical mechanics of anharmonic lattices

open access: yes, 2003
This paper is a review on the statistical mechanics of anharmonic oscillators coupled to heat reservoirs. We discuss stationary states (existence and ergodic properties) and entropy production (positivity, Green-Kubo formulas and the Gallavotti-Cohen ...

Statistical Mechanics of Phase-Space Curves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study the classical statistical mechanics of a phase-space curve. This unveils a mechanism that, via the associated entropic force, provides us with a simple realization of effects such as confinement, hard core, and asymptotic freedom.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Thermodynamically consistent coarse graining of biocatalysts beyond Michaelis–Menten

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
Starting from the detailed catalytic mechanism of a biocatalyst we provide a coarse-graining procedure which, by construction, is thermodynamically consistent.
