Simulation of Crevice and Pitting Corrosion Using the Orthogonal Collocation Method
Two dangerous forms of localized corrosion are pitting and crevice corrosion. In pitting corrosion, pits are formed as a result of differences in oxygen and ion concentration at the base of a pit compared with the surface.

Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

This study reveals how prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA) secondary structure and reverse transcriptase template length affect prime editing efficiency in correcting the phospholamban R14del cardiomyopathy‐associated mutation. Insights support the design of structurally optimized enhanced pegRNAs for precise gene therapy.

Photoluminescence from Bi5(GaCl4)3 molecular crystal
Bi5(GaCl4)3 sample has been synthesized through the oxidation of Bi metal by gallium chloride (GaCl3) salt. Powder X-ray diffraction as well as micro-Raman scattering results revealed that, in addition to crystalline Bi5(GaCl4)3 in the product, amorphous

A hybrid multigrid technique for computing steady-state solutions to supersonic flows [PDF]
Recently, Li and Sanders have introduced a class of finite difference schemes to approximate generally discontinuous solutions to hyperbolic systems of conservation laws. These equations have the form together with relevant boundary conditions.

On the chemistry of hydrides of N atoms and O$^+$ ions [PDF]
Previous work by various authors has suggested that the detection by Herschel/HIFI of nitrogen hydrides along the low density lines of sight towards G10.6-0.4 (W31C) cannot be accounted for by gas-phase chemical models.

Subpar reporting of pre‐analytical variables in RNA‐focused blood plasma studies
Pre‐analytical variables strongly influence the analysis of extracellular RNA (cell‐free RNA; exRNA) derived from blood plasma. Their reporting is essential to allow interpretation and replication of results. By evaluating 200 exRNA studies, we pinpoint a lack of reporting pre‐analytical variables associated with blood collection, plasma preparation ...
