Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

FALCO: Foundation Model of Astronomical Light Curves for Time Domain Astronomy. Implementation and Applications on Kepler Data

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Time-domain surveys have advanced astronomical research by revealing diverse variable phenomena, from stellar flares to transient events. The scale and complexity of survey data, along with the demand for rapid classification, present significant ...

Diffraction-driven photometry: A novel method for stellar temperature determination

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context. Estimating stellar temperatures is a fundamental task in astrophysics, typically achieved using colour indices (CI) derived from multi-filter photometry.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Classification of Wolf–Rayet Stars from LAMOST DR10

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Wolf–Rayet (WR) stars are highly evolved descendants of the most massive initial stellar populations, serving as essential tracers in stellar evolution. Despite the progress made in their study, a more comprehensive population census is still required to

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

2.1-MU-M IMAGES OF THE EVOLVED STELLAR DISK AND THE MORPHOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION OF SPIRAL GALAXIES

open access: yes, 1994
Near-infrared images confirm that the Hubble classification of spiral galaxies does not constrain the morphology of their stellar Population H disk, since galaxies on opposite ends of the spiral sequence can display remarkably similar evolved disk ...

USmorph: An Updated Framework of Automatic Classification of Galaxy Morphologies and Its Application to Galaxies in the COSMOS Field

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Morphological classification conveys abundant information on the formation, evolution, and environment of galaxies. In this work, we refine a two-step galaxy morphological classification framework ( USmorph ), which employs a combination of unsupervised ...
