A Study of Eight Visual-spectroscopic Southern Binaries Using Recent SOAR Observations
Speckle observations performed between 2019 and 2022 with the HRCam attached to the 4.1 m SOAR telescope (Cerro Pachón, Chile) permitted to improve visual orbits of the southern binaries WDS 01243-0655 (BU 1163), WDS 09275-5806 (CHR 240), WDS 12114-1647 (

Filamentary Star Formation in NGC 1275 [PDF]
We examine the star formation in the outer halo of NGC~1275, the central galaxy in the Perseus cluster (Abell 426), using far ultraviolet and optical images obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope.

Ultraviolet to infrared emission of z > 1 galaxies: Can we derive reliable star formation rates and stellar masses? [PDF]
Aims. Our knowledge of the cosmic mass assembly relies on measurements of star formation rates (SFRs) and stellar masses (M-star), of galaxies as a function of redshift.

Intrinsic stellar mass flux and steady stellar winds
The conventional view that winds from stars like the Sun result from the existence of a hot corona and a low-pressure interstellar medium has recently been challeanged by R. N. Thomas and collegues. They suggest that the rates of mass loss from these and other stars are determined by conditions imposed on the flow at or below photospheric levels and ...

A STEEPER THAN LINEAR DISK MASS–STELLAR MASS SCALING RELATION [PDF]
ABSTRACT The disk mass is among the most important input parameter for every planet formation model to determine the number and masses of the planets that can form. We present an ALMA 887 μm survey of the disk population around objects from ∼2 to 0.03 M ⊙ in the nearby ∼2 Myr old Chamaeleon I star-forming region.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

MODULES FOR EXPERIMENTS IN STELLAR ASTROPHYSICS (MESA): PLANETS, OSCILLATIONS, ROTATION, AND MASSIVE STARS [PDF]
We substantially update the capabilities of the open source software package Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics (MESA), and its one-dimensional stellar evolution module, MESAstar.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Due to their inability to self-regulate, ultrafaint dwarfs are sensitive to prescriptions in subgrid physics models that converge and regulate at higher masses.

Masses of subgiant stars from asteroseismology using the coupling strengths of mixed modes
Since few decades, asteroseismology, the study of stellar oscillations, enables us to probe the interiors of stars with great precision. It allows stringent tests of stellar models and can provide accurate radii, masses and ages for individual stars.
