Rotation- and temperature-dependence of stellar latitudinal differential rotation

open access: yes, 2005
More than 600 high resolution spectra of stars with spectral type F and later were obtained in order to search for signatures of differential rotation in line profiles.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Quiet Please: Detrending Radial Velocity Variations from Stellar Activity with a Physically Motivated Spot Model

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
For solar-type stars, spots and their associated magnetic regions induce radial velocity perturbations through the Doppler rotation signal and the suppression of convective blueshift, collectively known as rotation modulation.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Toward a Self-consistent Hydrodynamical Model of the Solar Tachocline

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The solar tachocline is a thin internal boundary layer in the Sun located between the differentially rotating convection zone and the uniformly rotating region of the radiative interior beneath. E. A. Spiegel & J. P.

Towards a unified model of stellar rotation II: Model-dependent characteristics of stellar populations

open access: yes, 2012
Rotation has a number of important effects on the evolution of stars. Apart from structural changes because of the centrifugal force, turbulent mixing and meridional circulation caused by rotation can dramatically affect a star's chemical evolution. This

An optimized protocol to detect high‐throughput DNA methylation from custom targeted sequences on 96 samples simultaneously

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Workflow of a high‐throughput technology for epigenotyping of differentially methylated CpGs in specific regions of the genome. The protocol works with small amounts of DNA extracted from blood or semen. The protocol consists of both enzymatic conversion of unmethylated cytosines and capture by hybridization with a custom panel.

Living with a Red Dwarf: The Rotation–Age Relationships of M Dwarfs

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
Age is a fundamental stellar property, yet for many stars, it is difficult to reliably determine. For M dwarfs, it has been notoriously so. Due to their lower masses, core hydrogen fusion proceeds at a much slower rate in M dwarfs than it does in more ...

Evaluating Gyrochronology on the Zero-Age-Main-Sequence: Rotation Periods in the Southern Open Cluster Blanco 1 from the KELT-South Survey

open access: yes, 2013
We report periods for 33 members of Blanco 1 as measured from KELT-South light curves, the first reported rotation periods for this benchmark zero-age-main-sequence open cluster.
