Stereoselective Synthesis of Dysoxylactam A

Organic Letters, 2020
The first report on the stereoselective synthesis of dysoxylactam A is disclosed. The five stereogenic centers of the fatty acid chain are created by utilizing Merck-Carreira and Marshall's propargylation reaction, Evans' alkylation methodology, and Noyori's transfer hydrogenation protocol.

Stereoselective synthesis of anamarine

Tetrahedron, 2004
A stereoselective synthesis of the naturally occurring, α,β-unsaturated lactone anamarine is described. The key step was a highly stereoselective aldol reaction of a protected erythrulose derivative with a chiral aldehyde. Another relevant step was an asymmetric aldehyde allylation with a chiral allylborane. The lactone ring was made by means of a ring-

Isoflurane anesthesia is stereoselective

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1992
The anesthetic effects of the (+) and (-) isomers of isoflurane were determined in mice. Like the clinically important racemate, both isomers produced dose-dependent increases in anesthetic sleep time. A statistically significant (P less than 0.005, ANOVA) difference in the potencies of these isomers ((+) greater than (-)) was observed.

Stereoselective Synthesis of (+)-Aspidofractinine

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
We describe the synthesis of (+)-aspidofractinine, the enantiomer of a naturally occurring alkaloid of the kopsane family. Key features of the synthesis include a stereospecific cyanate to isocyanate rearrangement on a chiral scaffold, a ring-closing alkene metathesis to cleave the chiral auxiliary, and a chemoselective cyclopropanation to introduce ...

Esterases as stereoselective biocatalysts

Biotechnology Advances, 2015
Non-lypolitic esterases are carboxylester hydrolases with preference for the hydrolysis of water-soluble esters bearing short-chain acyl residues. The potential of esterases as enantioselective biocatalysts has enlarged in the last few years due to the progresses achieved in different areas, such as screening methodologies, overproduction of ...

Stereoselective effects of cocaine

Behavioural Pharmacology, 1990
The stereoselectivity of several effects of cocaine was examined. Traditional behavioral effects of psychomotor stimulants, including increases in locomotor behavior in mice, increases in rates of operant behavior maintained under fixed-interval schedules in monkeys, and discriminative stimulus effects in rats were assessed.

Stereoselective peptide analysis

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2005
The stereochemistry of a peptide determines its spatial features and can profoundly influence its chemical properties and biological activity. Thus, the analysis of the stereochemical properties of a peptide is an important aspect of its characterisation. For such investigations a "selector" that engages in stereoselective interactions with the peptide

Stereoselectivity in drug metabolism

Expert Opinion on Drug Metabolism & Toxicology, 2007
Many chiral drugs are used as their racemic mixtures in clinical practice. Two enantiomers of a chiral drug generally differ in pharmacodynamic and/or pharmacokinetic properties as a consequence of the stereoselective interaction with optically active biological macromolecules.
