A novel multiscale MD/DFT framework to elucidate microenzyme adsorption and electron transfer is reported. This method reveals distinct configurations for microperoxidase‐11 on graphene and those best suited for electron transfer. Rate constants align with the limited experimental data, establishing this framework as a tool for optimizing microenzyme ...

Aberrant GALNT7‐mediated O‐GalNAcylation stabilizes TAZ to drive gallbladder cancer progression through a feed‐forward transcriptional loop. Structure‐based screening identifies Olaparib as a potent GALNT7 antagonist that disrupts this oncogenic axis, providing an immediate therapeutic strategy for this aggressive malignancy.

Mechanical Flexibility Enables DNA Origami to Overcome Steric Confinement in Mucus
Mechanical flexibility is introduced as a design parameter to enhance nanocarrier transport in mucus. Using DNA origami, flexibility is decoupled from size, shap and surface chemistry, revealing improved passage through confined hydrogel networks. While surface passivation reduces aggregation, flexibility further boosts transport, offering a general ...

An artificial bifunctional N‐deacetylase/N‐sulfotransferase was engineered in Escherichia coli by combining screened N‐deacetylases with an NST domain. The integrated engineering strategy improved enzyme performance. The optimized enzyme efficiently converted heparosan into N‐sulfated heparosan, addressing a key bottleneck in microbial heparin ...

Controlled Peptide Capture and Release in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Microstructures
Two‐photon laser printing of 3D microstructures using a peptide‐containing ink is shown. The microstructures allow for controlled capture and release of target peptides through coiled‐coil interaction with the printed peptide inside the material. Based on these properties, orthogonal capture and stimuli‐mediated release possibilities inside printed ...

Steric Hindrance Induces crosslike Self-Assembly of Gold Nanodumbbells
: In the formation of colloidal molecules, directional interactions are crucial for controlling the spatial distribution of the building blocks. Anisotropic nanoparticles facilitate directional clustering via steric constraints imposed by each specific ...

Inhibition of Amyloid Nucleation by Steric Hindrance
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2022Despite recent experiments and simulations suggesting that small-molecule inhibitors and some post-translational modifications (e.g., glycosylation and ubiquitination) can suppress the pathogenic aggregation of proteins due to steric hindrance, the effect of steric hindrance on amyloid formation has not been systematically studied. Based on Monte Carlo

Steric hindrance in immunolabelling
Journal of Microscopy, 1986SUMMARYIn this paper we describe immunocytochemical detection of PhoE pore protein in the outer membrane of E. coli K‐12 cells in dependence of a variety of labelling approaches.Immuno‐gold labelling on ultrathin cryosections showed a uniform, dense labelling of the outer membrane of all cells.

Calculation of Steric Hindrance
Nature, 1942IT seems possible to account for the steric effect of non-reacting groups on substitution rates on the lines of the following scheme, illustrated here by the example of the symmetrical substitution of t-butyl chloride by chlorine ions: In the transition state, the four t-butyl carbons will be co-planar and the methyl groups will cause least obstruction
