We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On Critical Behaviour in Systems of Hamiltonian Partial Differential Equations [PDF]
We study the critical behaviour of solutions to weakly dispersive Hamiltonian systems considered as perturbations of elliptic and hyperbolic systems of hydrodynamic type with two components.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Semi-implicit Taylor schemes for stiff rough differential equations [PDF]
We study a class of semi-implicit Taylor-type numerical methods that are easy to implement and designed to solve multidimensional stochastic differential equations driven by a general rough noise, e.g. a fractional Brownian motion.

The numerical solution of second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is examined in this work through a four-step linear multistep method. It employs a combination of trigonometric and polynomial functions as the approximate solution to the ...

Stiff systems of ordinary differential equations [PDF]
AbstractSolutions of the stiff system of linear differential equationsare obtained in a form yielding tight estimates of their properties, and conditions are obtained under which the operator norm of the map from r to the solution x does not become exponentially large for small values of ε.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Heterogeneous multiscale methods for stiff ordinary differential equations [PDF]
The heterogeneous multiscale methods (HMM) is a general framework for the numerical approximation of multiscale problems. It is here developed for ordinary differential equations containing different time scales. Stability and convergence results for the proposed HMM methods are presented together with numerical tests. The analysis covers some existing

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
