EUV stimulated emission from MgO pumped by FEL pulses

open access: yesStructural Dynamics, 2017
Stimulated emission is a fundamental process in nature that deserves to be investigated and understood in the extreme ultra-violet (EUV) and x-ray regimes.

Stimulated emission of Cooper pairs in a high-temperature cuprate superconductor

open access: yes, 2016
The concept of stimulated emission of bosons has played an important role in modern science and technology, and constitutes the working principle for lasers.

Stimulated emission of polarization-entangled photons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Entangled photon pairs -- discrete light quanta that exhibit non-classical correlations -- play a crucial role in quantum information science (for example in demonstrations of quantum non-locality and quantum cryptography).

Real‐time assay of ribonucleotide reductase activity with a fluorescent RNA aptamer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ribonucleotide reductases (RNR) synthesize DNA building blocks de novo, making them crucial in DNA replication and drug targeting. FLARE introduces the first single‐tube real‐time coupled RNR assay, which enables isothermal tracking of RNR activity at nanomolar enzyme levels and allows the reconstruction of allosteric regulatory patterns and rapid ...

Improved Crystalline Quality of AlN by Epitaxial Lateral Overgrowth Using Two-Phase Growth Method for Deep-Ultraviolet Stimulated Emission

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2016
We report on the maskless epitaxial lateral overgrowth (ELOG) of the AlN layer on trench-patterned AlN/sapphire templates by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD).

Spontaneous photon emission stimulated by two Bose condensates

open access: yes, 1996
We show that the phase difference of two overlapping ground state Bose-Einstein condensates can effect the optical spontaneous emission rate of excited atoms.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Effects of excitonic diffusion on stimulated emission in nanocrystalline ZnO [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present optically-pumped emission data for ZnO, showing that high excitation effects and stimulated emission / lasing are observed in nanocrystalline ZnO thin films at room temperature, although such effects are not seen in bulk material of better ...

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.
