Laser‐Based Sculpturing of Embedded Ultrathin Metal‐Oxide Nanopores for Enhanced Biomolecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐drilling of embedded HfO2 membranes creates three layer nanopores with Gaussian‐shaped cavities sculptured in the supporting layers. These embedded solid‐state nanopores slow DNA translocation by 12‐fold compared to SiNx pores, enabling high‐resolution, label‐free detection of short DNAs, RNAs, and proteins.

Explicit Characterization of Feedback Nash Equilibria for Indefinite, Linear-Quadratic, Mean-Field-Type Stochastic Zero-Sum Differential Games with Jump-Diffusion Models

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
We consider the indefinite, linear-quadratic, mean-field-type stochastic zero-sum differential game for jump-diffusion models (I-LQ-MF-SZSDG-JD).

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Zero-sum linear quadratic stochastic integral games and BSVIEs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper formulates and studies a linear quadratic (LQ for short) game problem governed by linear stochastic Volterra integral equation. Sufficient and necessary condition of the existence of saddle points for this problem are derived. As a consequence

Stochastic Adaptive Linear Quadratic Differential Games

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control
Game theory is playing more and more important roles in understanding complex systems and in investigating intelligent machines with various uncertainties. As a starting point, we consider the classical two-player zero-sum linear-quadratic stochastic differential games, but in contrast to most of the existing studies, the coefficient matrices of the ...

Active Learning‐Guided Accelerated Discovery of Ultra‐Efficient High‐Entropy Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An active learning framework is introduced for the accelerated discovery of high‐entropy chalcogenides with superior thermoelectric performance. Only 80 targeted syntheses, selected from 16206 possible combinations, led to three high‐performance compositions, demonstrating the remarkable efficiency of data‐driven guidance in experimental materials ...

A Probabilistic Approach to Mean Field Games with Major and Minor Players [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We propose a new approach to mean field games with major and minor players. Our formulation involves a two player game where the optimization of the representative minor player is standard while the major player faces an optimization over conditional ...

Membrane Semi‐Permeability and Ion Selectivity in Chemiosmosis: Open Systems Volume Dependence of Electrolyte Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Very small cellular compartments can break electroneutrality and harness proton gradients without active transport structures, whereas larger volumes cannot, underscoring why life's critical energy processes are confined in microscopic spaces. ABSTRACT The effect of pH changes in external ionic solutions on liposomes entrapping non‐permeable weak acid ...
