Connected Stocks [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Finance, 2014
ABSTRACTWe connect stocks through their common active mutual fund owners. We show that the degree of shared ownership forecasts cross‐sectional variation in return correlation, controlling for exposure to systematic return factors, style and sector similarity, and many other pair characteristics.

Growth and acyltransferase activity of rabbit mammary gland during pregnancy and lactation

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1977
A bimodal change in yield and microsomal protein content of rabbit mammary gland was observed with the progress of pregnancy and lactation. The initial stimulus took place on day 22 of pregnancy and the second during early lactation.

HS-SPME-GC-MS Analyses of Volatiles in Plant Populations—Quantitating Compound × Individual Matrix Effects

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled to gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is widely employed for volatile analyses of plants, including mapping populations used in plant breeding research. Studies often employ a single

Effects of genetic origin on phenotypic divergence in Brook Trout populations stocked with domestic fish

open access: yesEcosphere, 2020
Phenotypic changes due to human activities are occurring at a far greater speed than those originating from natural causes in animal populations. For instance, phenotypic divergence among individuals may arise in populations supplemented with farm‐reared

The “Paris School” and the “Structuralist Invasion” in North America

open access: yesCahiers Mondes Anciens, 2020
This essay offers some broader contextualization on the role of “structuralism” in North America and its relationship to the works of scholars who have been broadly classified under the exonym “Paris School” including Jean-Pierre Vernant, Marcel Detienne,

Recapture and condition of pond-reared, and hatchery-reared 1 +  European grayling stocked in addition to wild conspecifics in a small river

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 2012
The relative performance of European grayling Thymallus thymallus reared in a hatchery on commercial dry feed or in a pond with natural food and their wild conspecifics, was assessed through recapture of tagged fish 5 months after ...

Understanding admixture patterns in supplemented populations: a case study combining molecular analyses and temporally explicit simulations in Atlantic salmon

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, 2013
Genetic admixture between wild and introduced populations is a rising concern for the management of endangered species. Here, we use a dual approach based on molecular analyses of samples collected before and after hatchery fish introduction in ...
