The Effect of Storage Condition on Biodiesel

open access: yes, 2011
Biodiesel is an alternative diesel fuel derived from the varied processes of vegetable oils, animal fats, or waste frying oils to give the corresponding fatty acid methyl esters (Chang et al., 1996; Schmidt & Van Gerpen, 1996). In the transport sector it can be used blended with fossil diesel fuel and in pure form.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Total alcoholic acidity and pH tests as quality parameters in stored soybean grains

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Tropical, 2016
Despite the technology available to agriculture, qualitative and quantitative losses occurring during post-harvest are still not controlled, and stored grains may undergo changes in their composition, due to storage conditions.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Impact of Storage Time and Conditions on Properties of Biocarbon

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2018
Biocarbon is considered as an important alternative to replace fossil carbon as reductant in metallurgical industries. After its production, the properties of the biocarbon might change during long-term transportation and storage under specific conditions.
