Normalisation of shear test data for rate-independent compressible fabrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This article describes a method of using both picture frame (PF) and bias extension (BE) tests together to characterize accurately the trellis shearing resistance of engineering fabrics under low in-plane tension conditions.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Properties of NiAl Intermetallic Alloy with Different Copper Contents

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2016
The deformation behavior and fracture characteristics of NiAl intermetallic alloy containing 5~7 at% Cu are investigated at room temperature under strain rates ranging from 1 × 10−3 to 5 × 103 s−1.

Modelling of behaviour of metals at high strain rates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to produce the improvement of the existing simulation tools used for the analysis of materials and structures, which are dynamically loaded and subjected to the different levels of temperatures and strain ...

About the strain-rate effect in HJC model [PDF]

open access: yes
The strain-rate effect in HJC model is evaluated in this paper. Based on a comparison of strain-rate effects between the HJC and KC models, it shows that the determination and implementation procedures in the HJC model lead to smaller strain-rate effect.

Strain-Rate Effect in the Endochronic Theory of Viscoplasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
An explicit function of material parameter β1 is proposed to accommodate the strain-rate effect in the endochronic theory of viscoplasticity developed by Valanis.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Kinematic and isotropic strain hardening in copper with highly aligned nanoscale twins

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters, 2018
The kinematic and isotropic strain hardening was investigated in columnar-grained copper with preferentially oriented nanoscale twins deformed at two different strain rates of 5 × 10−5 and 5 × 10−3 s−1.
