Measurement of Stray-Load Loss in Induction Motors
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1945This paper is written to present test data confirming the accuracy of the reverse-rotation test for stray-load loss24 in polyphase induction motors. This method is the most convenient yet proposed for direct measurement of stray-load losses in squirrel-cage motors, and it is recommended that it be included in the AIEE Test Code for Polyphase Induction ...

Effects of Stray Inductance on Hard-Switched Switched Capacitor Converters
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2014Switched capacitor (SC) converters are becoming quite popular for use in DC-DC power conversion. The concept of equivalent resistance in SC converters is frequently used to determine the conduction losses due to the load current. A variety of methodologies have been presented to predict the equivalent resistance in hard-switched SC converters.

Investigation, Evaluation, and Optimization of Stray Inductance in Laminated Busbar
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2014Wiring inductance has a critical effect on electrical, thermal, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performances in inverters. Therefore, the low stray inductance laminated busbar, as a state-of-the-art pathway interface, is widely used in high-power inverters.

This paper presents different experimental methods for measuring parasitic capacitances and inductances of direct copper bond (DBC) based power semiconductor modules. The found parasitics are compared with finite element simulations to evaluate their accuracy. A very good match of the simulated and measured stray capacitances is found.

Stray Load Loss Test on Induction Machines
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1934A loading-back test has been used for the determination of the stray load losss in polyphase induction machines. This test, which was found to have a high degree of accuracy, enables the various losses to be separated. The application of the test is simple and convenient.

Stray load loss tests on induction machines — II
Electrical Engineering, 1936A new test method is described for the determination of stray load loss in induction machines. By application to given machines, this method is shown to have an exceptionally high degree of accuracy. Values of stray load loss for the same machines are obtained by other recognized methods and results compared.

Investigation on stray inductance of SiC MOSFET module
2017 14th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting: International Forum on Wide Bandgap Semiconductors China (SSLChina: IFWS), 2017For the past years, high power SiC MOSFET module has been widely applied in industrial drive, power transmission application and high power energy conversion for its superior switching performances. The performance of a commercial available type of three-phase bridge package is investigated to figure out the impact of stray inductance.
