Evaluation of ductile crack initiation limit using strain hardening exponent

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
Evaluation of ductile crack initiation limit without depending on materials was investigated. Ductile crack initiation behaviors were experimentally and analytically comprehended using Al alloy as non-ferrous metal in addition to two different steels. It

Corrections to sink strengths used in rate equation simulations of defects in solids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The mean-field rate equations have proven to be a versatile method in simulating defect dynamics and temporal changes in the micro-structure of materials. However, the reliability and usefulness of the method depends critically on the defect interaction parameters used.

Strength in Numbers [PDF]

open access: yesMeasurement and Control, 2008
The paper looks at measurement as a basic tool of modern thought, with wide applications. It presents an informal overview of the fundamental principles of measurement and examines some of its general problems. It concludes that measurement and control technology has much to contribute to wider applications of measurement and much to learn from them.

Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Dynamic Analysis of the Titanium Alloy Plate under Thermal-acoustic Loadings

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
Hypersonic vehicles structures suffer complex combined loadings generally. For the thin-walled structures and thermal protection systems of the aircraft, high temperature and intensity acoustic loadings are the significant factors that leading to their ...

Landscape of BRAF transcript variants in human cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigate the annotation of BRAF variants, focusing on protein‐coding BRAF‐220 (formerly BRAF‐reference) and BRAF‐204 (BRAF‐X1). The IsoWorm pipeline allows us to quantify these variants in human cancer, starting from RNA‐sequencing data. BRAF‐204 is more abundant than BRAF‐220 and impacts patient survival.
