Study on high-low cycle fretting fatigue life of Inconel718 tenon structure

open access: yesHangkong gongcheng jinzhan
The turbine blades of aero-engines are subjected to cyclic high-low cycle loads in actual service environments, which is a typical high-low cycle micro motion fatigue condition. The frequent occurrence of fatigue fracture in turbine blades due to fretting

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Earthing effects on mitochondrial function: ATP production and ROS generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In contrast to sham and naive controls, grounded mitochondria not only exhibit significantly enhanced energy production but also demonstrate a remarkable reduction in membrane potential and oxidative stress. This suggests a profound improvement in mitochondrial health, presenting a promising avenue for therapeutic interventions.

Dynamic Analysis of the Titanium Alloy Plate under Thermal-acoustic Loadings

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
Hypersonic vehicles structures suffer complex combined loadings generally. For the thin-walled structures and thermal protection systems of the aircraft, high temperature and intensity acoustic loadings are the significant factors that leading to their ...

The strength of stillness

open access: yesShort Film Studies, 2019
Abstract The article discusses the strength of stillness both at a narrative level related to Rosana’s appearance and at an aesthetic level related to the soundtrack. The quiet sound design communicates intensity and meaning, as does Rosana, who is largely ignored by the family but is an eminently strong character.

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.

Dislocation mechanisms and 3D twin architectures generate exceptional strength-ductility-toughness combination in CrCoNi medium-entropy alloy

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Combinations of high strength and ductility are hard to attain in metals. Exceptions include materials exhibiting twinning-induced plasticity. To understand how the strength-ductility trade-off can be defeated, we apply in situ, and aberration-corrected ...

Characterization of WAC interactions with R2TP and TTT chaperone complexes linking glucose and glutamine availability to mTORC1 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TTT and R2TP chaperone complexes are required for the assembly and activation of mTORC1. WAC directly interacts with components of TTT, R2TP, and mTORC1, and these interactions are affected by the availability of glucose and glutamine, correlating with changes in mTORC1 activity.

Strength in unity

open access: yesBulletin of the World Health Organization, 2009
Recent increases in resources for achiev-ing the goal of universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support have given renewed impetus to the longer-standing political commitment for achieving targets in sexual and repro-ductive health and rights.
