Streptolysin (Streptococcus pyogenes)
1997Abstract Streptolysin O (SLO) is produced by beta-hemolytic streptococci. It belongs to the group of thiol-activated toxins, a large family of homologous cytolysins which are secreted by gram-positive bacteria and share extensive homology (Alouf and Geoffroy 1991).

Intertrigo Caused by Streptococcus pyogenes
The Journal of Pediatrics, 2017Well-demarcated, beefy-red lesions of the skin folds, without satellite lesions, are the clinical hallmarks of intertrigo, frequently misdiagnosed especially in young children. We present 6 cases of streptococcal intertrigo to draw attention to this easily diagnosed and treated, but frequently overlooked, infection.
