Genomic insight into the Streptomyces aurantiacus clade: reclassification of Streptomyces ederensis as a later heterotypic synonym of Streptomyces umbrinus and Streptomyces glomeroaurantiacus as a later heterotypic synonym of Streptomyces aurantiacus

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2021
The taxonomic relationships and genome features of the type strains in the Streptomyces aurantiacus clade, including Streptomyces aurantiacus ,

A novel Streptomyces gene, samR , with different effects on differentiation of Streptomyces ansochromogenes and Streptomyces coelicolor

Archives of Microbiology, 2002
A 1.4-kb DNA fragment from Streptomyces ansochromogenes accelerated mycelium formation of S. ansochromogenes when present on a multicopy plasmid. The DNA fragment contains one complete open reading frame, designated samR, encoding a protein with 213 amino acids that contains a likely DNA-binding helix-turn-helix motif close to its N-terminus.

Decomposition of Oxalate by Streptomyces

Nature, 1954
THE microbial degradation of oxalate is relatively a rare phenomenon. During the last decade, however, some valuable information on the isolation and study of some more oxalate-decomposing organisms, mostly bacteria, has been reported. The work of Bhat and Barker1, Janota2, Muller3, Khambata and Bhat4,5 and Jayasuriya6,7 has contributed substantially ...

Production of L-Asparaginase By Streptomyces Karnatakensis and Streptomyces Venezuelae

Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, Parasitenkunde, Infektionskrankheiten und Hygiene. Zweite Naturwissenschaftliche Abteilung: Mikrobiologie der Landwirtschaft, der Technologie und des Umweltschutzes, 1979
Production of L-asparaginase by two soil isolates, identified as S. karnatakensis and S. venezuelae, was investigated under different environmental and nutritional conditions. The presence of carbon sources, other than starch, in the growth medium or amino acids, other than L-asparagine-inhibited the enzyme biosynthesis. L-aspartic inhibited growth and

Interspecific Recombination in Streptomyces

Nature, 1963
GENETIC recombination of Streptomycetes was first reported by Sermonti and Spada-Sermonti in 19551. By crossing different nutritional mutants of Streptomyces coelicolor various auxotrophic and prototrophic types have been obtained.
