Performance based simulation of pervious concrete using discrete element method

open access: yesGrađevinar, 2020
Pervious concrete is a special type of concrete that differs from ordinary concrete by its highly porous nature, which is why this type of discrete material can not be modelled using the Finite Element Method (FEM). Behaviour of pervious concrete samples

Non-Newtonian Rheology of Igneous Melts at High Stresses and Strain Rates: Experimental Results for Rhyolite, Andesite, Basalt, and Nephelinite [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The stress-strain rate relationships of four silicate melt compositions (high-silica rhyolite, andesite, tholeiitic basalt, and nephelinite) have been studied using the fiber elongation method.

Static and Dynamic Compressive Stress-Strain Behavior of Recycled Tire Crumb Rubber Mortar

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2020
Crumb rubber mortar (CRM) made from scrap tires can be used in highway, high-speed railways, and airport pavements as a structural material, which may help to solve the problems of raw material shortage and waste tire pollution at the same time.

Psychological Safety Among Interprofessional Pediatric Oncology Teams in Germany: A Nationwide Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Psychological safety (PS) is essential for teamwork, communication, and patient safety in complex healthcare environments. In pediatric oncology, interprofessional collaboration occurs under high emotional and organizational demands. Low PS may increase stress, burnout, and adverse events.

Characterizing Parental Concerns About Lasting Impacts of Treatment in Children With B‐Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, and while most children in high‐resource settings are cured, therapy carries risks for long‐term toxicities. Understanding parents’ concerns about these late effects is essential to guide anticipatory support and inform evolving therapeutic approaches ...

Study on coal crack propagation and failure mode with different moisture content under uniaxial compression

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2022
In order to study the influence of moisture intrusion on crack propagation and failure mode of loaded coal, uniaxial compression tests and acoustic emission monitoring of coal with different moisture contents are carried out.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Evaluasi Tegangan-Regangan Dengan Pemodelan Silinder Beton

open access: yesRekayasa Sipil, 2018
Compressive strength is one of the main parameters in the analysis of concrete behavior. In general, the compressive strength of the concrete will be tested in the laboratory using the Uniaxial Compression Test tool.

Modeling of mechanical behavior of cork in compression

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2020
The present work consists of a contribution in modeling the mechanical behavior of cork in compression. For this purpose, compression tests are performed in the non-radial direction on high density reproduction cork samples.
