Dynamic constitutive models of Ti-6Al-4V based on isothermal ture stress–strain curves

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy is a typical difficult-to-cut material used in many fields. The selection of cutting parameters exerts tremendous influences on the material removal process.

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Mechanical properties of buckwheat perga [PDF]

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture, 2020
Owing to a limited body of information on perga properties in the literature, the compressive properties of perga were determined in this study using uniaxial compressive tests.

Financial Burden Associated With Hospitalisation Among Families of Childhood Brain Tumours in Australia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

Three-Dimensional Deformation of Warp-Knitted Spacer Fabrics Under Tensile Loading

open access: yesAUTEX Research Journal, 2019
This paper puts forward a new method for measuring the three-dimensional deformation of warp-knitted spacer fabrics under tensile stress. The three-dimensional deformation mechanisms of warp-knitted spacer fabrics have been analyzed using stress–strain ...

Application of Image Processing to Predict Compressive Behavior of Aluminum Foam

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2016
An image processing technique was used to model the internal structure of aluminum foam in finite element analysis in order to predict the compressive behavior of the material.

Regression analysis for predicting the elasticity of liquid crystal elastomers

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
It is highly desirable but difficult to understand how microscopic molecular details influence the macroscopic material properties, especially for soft materials with complex molecular architectures.

Behaviour of steel fibre reinforced concrete under cyclic compressive loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
An experimental study was carried out to investigate the behaviour of steel fibre reinforced concrete under cyclic compressive loading. Cylindrical specimens containing two volume fractions (one percent and two percent) of steel fibres and plain concrete

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Analysis of Strain Hardening Stages of AISI 316 LN Stainless Steel Under Cold Rolling Conditions

open access: yesMetals
In the present investigation, stress–strain curves and strain hardening rates on samples rolled at ambient temperature with thickness reductions of 0%, 10%, 30%, and 50% were studied.
