The nonlinear Maxwell-type model for viscoelastoplastic materials: simulation of temperature influence on creep, relaxation and strain-stress curves

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2017
The nonlinear Maxwell-type constitutive relation with two arbitrary material functions for viscoelastoplastic multi-modulus materials is studied analytically in uniaxial isothermic case to reveal the model abilities and applicability scope and to develop

Prediction of Hot Formability of AA7075 Aluminum Alloy Sheet

open access: yesMetals, 2023
A uniaxial high-temperature tensile test of an AA7075 aluminum alloy sheet was conducted using an established induction heating test system. Five different types of specimens were designed to obtain the stress–strain curves at different forming ...

Study of hot deformation behavior of CuFe2 alloy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Nil strength temperature of 1062 degrees C and nil ductility temperature of 1040 degrees C were experimentally set for CuFe2 alloy. The highest formability at approx. 1020 degrees C is unusable due to massive grain coarsening.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Analysis of the punch motion curve for the springback of U-shaped sheet metal

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2023
Servo presses achieve high formability by using different punch motion curves, thereby increasing their applicability in conventional processing fields.

The role of weakest links and system size scaling in multiscale modeling of stochastic plasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Plastic deformation of crystalline and amorphous matter often involves intermittent local strain burst events. To understand the physical background of the phenomenon a minimal stochastic mesoscopic model was introduced, where microstructural details are

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Deep neural network approach to estimate biaxial stress-strain curves of sheet metals

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2020
To improve the accuracy of a sheet metal forming simulation, the constitutive model is calibrated using results from multiaxial material testing. However, multiaxial material testing is time-consuming and requires specialized equipment.

Unloaing and re-loading features of pre-strained steel at low temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the present work the response of medium carbon steel is investigated experimentally and information on the features of initial loading, unloading, re-loading and inverse loading processes is collected.
