Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

A constitutive model for analyzing martensite formation in austenitic steels deforming at high strain rates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This study presents a constitutive model for steels exhibiting SIMT, based on previous seminal works, and the corresponding methodology to estimate their parameters.

Strain gradient effects on concrete stress–strain curve [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2012
The stress–strain characteristic of concrete developed in flexure is one of the essential parameters for the ultimate flexural strength design of reinforced concrete (RC) members. Currently, the stress–strain curve of concrete developed in flexure is obtained by scaling down the uniaxial stress–strain curve.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Modified hydraulic bulging in acquisition of stress strain curve [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Material Forming, 2010
From classical hydraulic bulging of a circular diaphragm, a new method of recording a stress-strain curve is derived named modified hydraulic bulging on the sphere. New method allows more accurate determination of membrane stress in the deforming material.

Modeling of critical strain for dynamic recrystallization of niobium microalloyed steels

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2022
The critical strain for dynamic recrystallization (DRX) is most important in designing rolling schedules for the refinement of grain size by boundary-induced transformation mechanisms. Modeling of the critical strain for DRX from the stress-strain curves
