Strain Effect in MgB2/Stainless Steel Superconducting Tape

open access: yes, 2001
The influence of mechanical strain on the critical current (Ic) is investigated for MgB2/stainless steel (SUS316) superconducting tapes. The tapes are fabricated by using 'powder in tube' method and deformation process without any heat treatment.

Identification of plastic constitutive parameters at large deformations from three dimensional displacement fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this paper is to provide a general procedure to extract the constitutive parameters of a plasticity model starting from displacement measurements and using the Virtual Fields Method.

Method for predicting the stress-strain state of the vertical shaft lining at the drift landing section in saliferous rocks

open access: yesJournal of Mining Institute, 2019
The article proposes a method for predicting the stress-strain state of the vertical shaft lining in saliferous rocks at the drift landing section. The paper considers the development of geomechanical processes in the saliferous rock in the landing area,

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Stress Path Dependence of Mechanical Properties of Saturated Soft Loess and its Simulation

open access: yesTaiyuan Ligong Daxue xuebao
[Purposes] The saturated soft loess formed by the rise of groundwater level is mostly in a soft plastic and flow plastic state, with engineering geological characteristics of high water content, high compression, and low bearing capacity.

Experimental Study on Thermal Expansion Behavior of Concrete under Three-Dimensional Stress

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2021
Concrete is widely used in underground engineering and bears three-dimensional stress transmitted by overlying load. When a fire occurs, the thermal expansion of concrete structure under such stress state is different from that under stress-free state ...

On stress/strain state in a rotating disk

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019
In the framework of mechanics of continuum bodies, the problem of stress/strain state in a high-speed rotating disk of constant thickness has been considered. The material of the disk is assumed to be homogeneous, elastic/perfectly-plastic.

Re‐Awakening Public Attention to the Silent Pandemic of Cancer Among Older Adults in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...
