In situ stress characteristics of the NE Sichuan basin based on acoustic emission test and imaging logging

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2021
This study presents the distribution rule of in situ stress in the northeast Sichuan basin and its relationship with fracture. Sixty-seven sets of core samples of 21 Wells from the terrigenous clastic rock formation (Shaximiao, Qianfoya, Xujiahe) and ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

SPECIFIC FEATURES OF FIELDS OF STRESSES ASSOCIATED WITH AFTERSHOCK PROCESSES IN THE ALTAI-SAYAN MOUNTAINOUS REGION

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2015
The cataclastic method developed by Yu.L. Rebetsky is applied to reconstruct the recent field of stresses related to aftershock sequences of earthquakes that occurred in the Altai-Sayan mountainous region, specifically the Altai earthquake of 27 ...

Dynamical system analysis and forecasting of deformation produced by an earthquake fault

open access: yes, 2003
We present a method of constructing low-dimensional nonlinear models describing the main dynamical features of a discrete 2D cellular fault zone, with many degrees of freedom, embedded in a 3D elastic solid. A given fault system is characterized by a set

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Assessment of the In-situ Stress State of the Carbonate Rock Mass at an Oil Field

open access: yesRussian Journal of Earth Sciences
The paper presents an algorithm for reconstruction of stress state parameters of rock massif based on data on natural fractures. For one well developing an oil field, the directions of the principal in-situ stresses, their relative magnitudes, and the ...

Reconstruction of a 2D stress field around the tip of a sharp material inclusion

open access: yesProcedia Structural Integrity, 2016
AbstractThe stress distribution in the vicinity of a sharp material inclusion (SMI) tip exhibits a singular stress behavior. The strength of the stress singularity depends on material properties and geometry. The SMI is a special case of a general singular stress concentrator (GSSC).

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...
