Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Mode 1 stress intensity factors for round compact specimens [PDF]

open access: yes
The mode 1 stress intensity factors were computed for round compact specimens by the boundary collocation method. Results are presented for ratios A sub T/R sub 0 in the range 0.3 to 0.8, where A sub t is the distance from the specimen center to the ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Stress-intensity factors for internal surface cracks in cylindrical pressure vessels [PDF]

open access: yes
The stress intensity factors were calculated by a three dimensional finite element method. The finite element models employed singularity elements along the crack front and linear strain elements elsewhere.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Сoncentrated force acting near the tip of an interface crack with a rigid overlay on its side

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2011
Plane stress state near the tip of an interface crack induced by specified concentrated force is considered. One of the crack faces is partially reinforced by a rigid straight line overlay.

Effect of crack position and size of particle on SIF in SiC particles reinforced Al composite

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2019
In this paper the effect of reinforcement crack position and loading conditions (in mode I) on the stress intensity factors of the Al/SiCp metal matrix composite was examined using a finite element method.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Numerical Estimation of Notch Stress Intensity Factors of Sharp V-Notches

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In the present work a simple and efficient least squares method is implemented for accurate estimation of notch stress intensity factors (NSIFs) of sharp V-notches.
