Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Changes in Lateral Stress During Slurry Trench Wall Installation.

open access: yes, 1996
PhDThe thesis is concerned with the effects of slurry trenching (diaphragm wall installation) in an overconsolidated clay, with particular emphasis on the changes in lateral stress which occur. A review of the literature on diaphragm wall installation

Stress in healthy young women : psychophysiological stress response and sleep in the context of adverse childhood experiences and daily stress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The aim of the present dissertation is to contribute to the knowledge about different aspects of stress and their impact on healthy young women. The relationship between daily stress, presleep arousal, and sleep was investigated and additionally, the ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Effects of suckling on hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis responses to psychosocial stress in postpartum lactating women [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In several studies lactation has been shown to be associated with a hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis hyporesponsiveness to physical and psychological stressors. As it is not known whether the marked blunting of endocrine stress reactivity in women can

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Cultural values and the job demands-control model of stress: A moderation analysis

open access: yes, 2019
This study examined whether cultural values (individualism/collectivism [IC]) moderate the association between the job demands- control (JDC) model and health. To determine the influence of the measurement level of IC (national vs.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Development of high-speed photoelasticity for visualization of shear stress field in pressure-sensitive gel

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu
Present study aims to develop a high-speed photoelasticity with a high-speed polarization camera for evaluating the stress loading on a pressure-sensitive gel by fingertip movements. Prior to this, normal stress loading and phase retardation field on the
