Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Terrorist attacks and the male to female ratio at birth : the bombings of Madrid (3/2004) and London (7/2005) [PDF]
Introduction: Males are usually in excess of females at birth and the ratio is often expressed as M/F (male divided by total births). Several factors have been shown to be associated with changes in M/F, including major terrorist attacks.

Some Effects on Fatigue Strength
It has been widely known for some time that the mean stress affects the fatigue strength of steel. This is distinctly evident when working with non-welded or stress-relieved welded details. Some consequences of this influence are revealed when evaluating

True triaxial test and failure criterion of coal gangue concrete
In view of the pollution caused by the large storage of coal gangue and the shortage of natural aggregate in concrete, using coal gangue as coarse aggregate is a reasonable way to solve the above problems.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Salivary alpha-amylase over cortisol ratio as a longitudinal indicator of work stress and psychosomatic strain in teachers [PDF]
Introduction: This longitudinal study investigates to what extent salivary alpha-amylase (as an index of the activation of the sympathetic nervous system, SNS), salivary cortisol (as an index of the activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal, HPA ...
