Supersymmetric Janus solutions in $$\omega $$ ω -deformed $$N=8$$ N = 8 gauged supergravity

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2021
We give a large class of supersymmetric Janus solutions in $$\omega $$ ω -deformed (dyonic) SO(8) maximal gauged supergravity with $$\omega =\frac{\pi }{8}$$ ω = π 8 .

String-String Duality in Ten Dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The heterotic string occurs as a soliton of the type I superstring in ten dimensions, supporting the conjecture that these two theories are equivalent. The conjecture that the type IIB string is self-dual, with the strong coupling dynamics described by

Free vibration analysis of a string with vibration suppressor located at 1/N of the string (When N is an even number)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
When an elevator rope for a high-rise building is forcibly excited by the displacements of the building induced by wind forces and/or by long-period ground motion, rope displacement becomes large even if the ground acceleration and the buildings ...

Fermionic pole-skipping in holography

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We examine thermal Green’s functions of fermionic operators in quantum field theories with gravity duals. The calculations are performed on the gravity side using ingoing Eddington-Finkelstein coordinates.

String duality and nonsupersymmetric strings [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1998
In recent work Kachru, Kumar and Silverstein introduced a special class of non-supersymmetric type II string theories in which the cosmological constant vanishes at the first two orders of perturbation theory. Heuristic arguments suggest the cosmological constant may vanish in these theories to all orders in perturbation theory leading to a flat ...

Methane-derived microbial biostimulant reduces greenhouse gas emissions and improves rice yield

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
IntroductionMore than half of the world’s population consumes rice as their primary food. The majority of rice production is concentrated in Asia, with the top 10 rice-growing countries accounting for 84% of the world’s total rice cultivation.

A Universal w String Theory

open access: yes, 1994
It has been shown that there is a sequential embedding structure in a $w_N$\ string theory based on a linearized $W_N$\ algebra. The $w_N$\ string theory is obtained as a special realization of the $w_{N+1}$\ string.

Singleton strings

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, 2007
In this note, we briefly introduce singleton representations and discuss their relevance to the study of string and brane configurations in AdS space, their tensionless limit and the connection with higher-spin gauge theory. We then discuss the main properties of subcritical SO(D-1,2) WZW models featuring singletons and their composites as primary ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.
