Duality Symmetries of 4D Heterotic Strings

open access: yes, 1993
Target space duality (T duality), which interchanges Kaluza--Klein and winding-mode excitations of the compactified heterotic string, is realized as a symmetry of a world-sheet action. Axion-dilaton duality (S duality), a conjectured nonperturbative SL(2,

S-Duality and Cosmological Constant in String Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The S-duality invariance of the equations of motion of four dimensional string effective action with cosmological constant, $\Lambda $, is studied. It is demonstrated that the S-duality symmetry of the field equations are broken for nonzero $\Lambda ...

Spinor–Vector Duality and Mirror Symmetry

open access: yesUniverse
Mirror symmetry was first observed in worldsheet string constructions, and was shown to have profound implications in the Effective Field Theory (EFT) limit of string compactifications, and for the properties of Calabi–Yau manifolds.

Double field theory and geometric quantisation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We examine various properties of double field theory and the doubled string sigma model in the context of geometric quantisation. In particular we look at T-duality as the symplectic transformation related to an alternative choice of polarisation in the ...

Duality of (0,2) string vacua [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1995
We discuss a duality of (0,2) heterotic string vacua which implies that certain pairs of (0,2) Calabi-Yau compactifications on topologically distinct target manifolds yield identical string theories. Some complex structure moduli in one model are interpreted in the dual model as deforming the holomorphic structure of the vacuum gauge bundle (and vice ...

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

A nonabelian particle–vortex duality

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
We define a nonabelian particle–vortex duality as a 3-dimensional analogue of the usual 2-dimensional worldsheet nonabelian T-duality. The transformation is defined in the presence of a global SU(2) symmetry and, although derived from a string theoretic ...

Duality Symmetries and the Type II String Effective Action [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We discuss the duality symmetries of Type II string effective actions in nine, ten and eleven dimensions. As a by-product we give a covariant action underlying the ten--dimensional Type IIB supergravity theory.

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

T-duality to scattering amplitude and Wilson loop in non-commutative super Yang-Mills theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We first perform bosonic T-duality transformation on one of the marginal TsT (T-duality, shift, T-duality)-deformed AdS 5×S 5 spacetime, which corresponds to 4D N=4 $$ \mathcal{N}=4 $$ non-commutative super Yang-Mills theory (NCSYM).
