Unification of String Dualities [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.Proc.Suppl.58:5-19,1997, 1996
We argue that all conjectured dualities involving various string, M- and F- theory compactifications can be `derived' from the conjectured duality between type I and SO(32) heterotic string theory, T-dualities, and the definition of M- and F- theories.

Open-Closed Duality at Tree Level [PDF]

open access: greenPhys.Rev.Lett.91:181601,2003, 2003
We study decay of unstable D-branes in string theory in the presence of electric field, and show that the classical open string theory results for various properties of the final state agree with the properties of closed string states into which the system is expected to decay. This suggests a duality between tree level open string theory on unstable D-

String Theory and Duality [PDF]

open access: yesDoc.Math.J.DMV 2 (1998) 229-238, 1998
This is a very brief survey of some results in the geometry of string duality delivered at a lecture given at ICM 1998, Berlin. String Duality is the statement that one kind of string theory compactified on one space is equivalent in some sense to another string theory compactified on a second space.

Cosmological Quantum String Vacua and String-String Duality [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.Proc.Suppl. 52A (1997) 344-346, 1996
Implications of string-string dualities to cosmological string vacua are discussed. Cosmological vacua of classical string theories comprise of disjoint classses mapped one another by scale-factor T-duality. Each classes are, however, afflicted with initial/final cosmological singularities.

K3 Surfaces and String Duality [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Differential Geometry, 1996
The primary purpose of these lecture notes is to explore the moduli space of type IIA, type IIB, and heterotic string compactified on a K3 surface. The main tool which is invoked is that of string duality.

Odderon in gauge/string duality [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2008
At high energies, elastic hadronic cross sections, such as pp, p, π±p, are dominated by vacuum exchange, which in leading order of the 1/Nc expansion has been identified as the BFKL Pomeron or its strong AdS dual the closed string Reggeized graviton [1].

Monopoles, Duality, and String Theory [PDF]

open access: greenInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2003
Dirac showed that the existence of magnetic monopoles would imply quantization of electric charge. I discuss the converse, and propose two 'principles of completeness' which I illustrate with various examples. Presented at the Dirac Centennial Symposium, Tallahassee, Dec. 6-7, 2002.

String breaking, baryons, medium, and gauge/string duality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The string breaking phenomenon in QCD can be studied using the gauge/string duality. In this approach, one can make estimates of some of the string breaking distances at non-zero temperature and baryon chemical potential.

Drag force on heavy diquarks and gauge/string duality [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2018
We use gauge/string duality to model a doubly heavy diquark in a color antitriplet moving in a thermal plasma at temperatures near the critical. With the assumption that there is no relative motion between the constituents, we calculate the drag force on

Spinor-Vector Duality and the Swampland

open access: yesUniverse, 2022
The Swampland Program aims to address the question, “when does an effective field theory model of quantum gravity have an ultraviolet complete embedding in string theory?”, and can be regarded as a bottom-up approach for investigations of quantum gravity.
