String duality and nonsupersymmetric strings [PDF]
In recent work Kachru, Kumar and Silverstein introduced a special class of non-supersymmetric type II string theories in which the cosmological constant vanishes at the first two orders of perturbation theory. Heuristic arguments suggest the cosmological constant may vanish in these theories to all orders in perturbation theory leading to a flat ...

Duality of (0,2) string vacua [PDF]
We discuss a duality of (0,2) heterotic string vacua which implies that certain pairs of (0,2) Calabi-Yau compactifications on topologically distinct target manifolds yield identical string theories. Some complex structure moduli in one model are interpreted in the dual model as deforming the holomorphic structure of the vacuum gauge bundle (and vice ...

T-dualization of Gödel string cosmologies via Poisson–Lie T-duality approach
Using the homogeneous Gödel spacetimes we find some new solutions for the field equations of bosonic string effective action up to first order in $$\alpha '$$ α ′ including both dilaton and axion fields.

Dualities of fields and strings [PDF]
Duality, the equivalence between seemingly distinct quantum systems, is a curious property that has been known for at least three quarters of a century. In the past two decades it has played a central role in mapping out the structure of theoretical physics.

Just as string T-duality originates from transforming field equations into Bianchi identities on the string worldsheet, so it has been suggested that M-theory U-dualities originate from transforming field equations into Bianchi identities on the membrane

NONCOMMUTATIVE GEOMETRY, STRINGS AND DUALITY [PDF]
In this talk, based on work done in collaboration with G. Landi and R. J. Szabo, I will review how string theory can be considered as a noncommutative geometry based on an algebra of vertex operators. The spectral triple of strings is introduced, and some of the string symmetries, notably target space duality, are discussed in this framework.

Odderon in gauge/string duality [PDF]
At high energies, elastic hadronic cross sections, such as $pp, \overline p p, π^{\pm} p$, are dominated by vacuum exchange, which in leading order of the $1/N_c$ expansion has been identified as the BFKL Pomeron or its strong AdS dual the closed string Reggeized graviton \cite{Brower:2006ea}.
