Experimental String Field Theory [PDF]
We develop efficient algorithms for level-truncation computations in open bosonic string field theory. We determine the classical action in the universal subspace to level (18,54) and apply this knowledge to numerical evaluations of the tachyon ...

Free Field Theory as a String Theory? [PDF]
An approach to systematically implement open-closed string duality for free large $N$ gauge theories is summarised. We show how the relevant closed string moduli space emerges from a reorganisation of the Feynman diagrams contributing to free field ...

Closed String Cohomology in Open String Field Theory [PDF]
We show that closed string states in bosonic string field theory are encoded in the cyclic cohomology of cubic open string field theory (OSFT) which, in turn, classifies the deformations of OSFT.

String Cosmology — Large-Field Inflation in String Theory [PDF]
This is a short review of string cosmology. We wish to connect string-scale physics as closely as possible to observables accessible to current or near-future experiments. Our possible best hope to do so is a description of inflation in string theory. The energy scale of inflation can be as high as that of Grand Unification (GUT). If this is the case,

Causality in string field theory
Abstract In this letter, we will investigate causality in string field theory using pp-wave light-cone gauge string field theory. We will generalise the Ramsey scheme to string field theory, and use it to analyze string field theoretical processes.

Field Theory Expansions of String Theory Amplitudes [PDF]
Motivated by quantum field theory (QFT) considerations, we present new representations of the Euler-Beta function and tree-level string theory amplitudes using a new two-channel, local, crossing symmetric dispersion relation. Unlike standard series representations, the new ones are analytic everywhere except at the poles, sum over poles in all channels,

Mean string field theory: Landau-Ginzburg theory for 1-form symmetries
By analogy with the Landau-Ginzburg theory of ordinary zero-form symmetries, we introduce and develop a Landau-Ginzburg theory of one-form global symmetries, which we call mean string field theory.

String amplitudes from Moyal string field theory [PDF]
We illustrate a basic framework for analytic computations of Feynman graphs using the Moyal star formulation of string field theory. We present efficient methods of computation based on (a) the monoid algebra in noncommutative space and (b) the conventional Feynman rules in Fourier space.

Mapping between Witten and lightcone string field theories
We propose a transformation between the off-shell field variables of Witten’s open bosonic string field theory and the traditional lightcone string field theory of Kaku and Kikkawa, based on Mandelstam’s interacting string picture.
