Carroll strings with an extended symmetry algebra
Starting from the Polyakov action we consider two distinct Carroll limits in target space, keeping the string worldsheet relativistic. The resulting magnetic and chiral Carroll string models exhibit different symmetries and dynamics.

A light Z′ heterotic-string derived model
The existence of an extra Z′ inspired from heterotic-string theory at accessible energy scales attracted considerable interest in the particle physics literature.

A reconfigurable RRAM platform utilizing thermally pre‐formed filaments (TPFs) is developed to realize robust hardware security. By exploiting the thermodynamic stochasticity of TPFs, exceptionally reliable physically unclonable functions (PUFs) are achieved.

A large-D Weyl invariant string model in anti-de sitter space [PDF]
In this thesis we present a novel scheme for calculating the bosonic string partition function on certain curved backgrounds related to Anti-de Sitter [AdS] space.

Open-String Models With Broken Supersymmetry [PDF]
I review the salient features of three classes of open-string models with broken supersymmetry. These suffice to exhibit, in relatively simple settings, the two phenomena of ``brane supersymmetry'' and ``brane supersymmetry breaking''. In the first class of models, to lowest order supersymmetry is broken both in the closed and in the open sectors.

Review of Thermally Activated Twisted Coiled Polymer Actuators: A Materials Science Perspective
Thermally activated twisted and coiled polymer actuators (TCPAs) combine lightweight design, large deformation, and scalable fabrication for soft robotic and wearable applications. This review connects polymer structure, processing history, helix geometry, and thermomechanical characterization to actuator performance, highlighting current challenges in

Backreaction Issues in Axion Monodromy and Minkowski 4-forms [PDF]
We clarify the differences between the usual Kaloper-Sorbo description of axion monodromy and the effective axionic potential in terms of Minkowski 4-forms derived in string compactifications.

Percolation of a bit-string model
We investigate the effect of mutations on adaptability in a bit-string model of invading species in a random environment. The truncation-like fitness function depends on the Hamming distance between the optimal (wild)-type at each site and the invading species for a square lattice.

Conformal bootstrap and Heterotic string Gepner models
In Gepner's pioneering work, the requirement that leads to a model having the desired N=1 Spacetime supersymmetry and E(8)×E(6) Gauge symmetry was the requirement that the spacetime symmetry is compatible with modular invariance.

The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...
