Fundamental Strings and D-Strings in the IIB Matrix Model [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 1997
The matrix model for IIB superstring proposed by Ishibashi, Kawai, Kitazawa and Tsuchiya is investigated. Consideration of planar and non-planar diagrams suggests that large-N perturbative expansion is consistent with the double scaling limit proposed by the above authors.

Very effective string model? [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1998
Additional evidence is presented for a recently proposed effective string model, conjectured to hold throughout the parameter space of the basic 5 dimensional, triply charged black holes, which includes the effects of brane excitations, as well as momentum modes.

Microscopic unitary description of tidal excitations in high-energy string-brane collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The eikonal operator was originally introduced to describe the effect of tidal excitations on higher-genus elastic string amplitudes at high energy.

Coset space actions for nonrelativistic strings

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We formulate the stringy nonrelativistic limits of the flat space and AdS5 ×S5 string as coset models, based on the string Bargmann and extended string Newton-Hooke algebras respectively.

Standard model-like D-brane models and gauge couplings

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2015
We systematically search intersecting D-brane models, which just realize the Standard Model chiral matter contents and gauge symmetry. We construct new classes of non-supersymmetric Standard Model-like models.

Non-Lorentzian IIB supergravity from a polynomial realization of SL(2, ℝ)

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We derive the action and symmetries of the bosonic sector of non-Lorentzian IIB supergravity by taking the non-relativistic string limit. We find that the bosonic field content is extended by a Lagrange multiplier that implements a restriction on the ...

Supersymmetric geometries in string theory

open access: yes, 2022
Supersymmetric vacua of string theory endow the internal space with a special geometric structure. We refer to these structures collectively as supersymmetric geometries.

Theory Assessment and Final Theory Claim in String Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
String theory has by now maintained a highly influential position in high energy physics for more than a quarter of a century. The present article analyses the reasons for the considerable trust exponents of string theory have in their theory even though

Gravitational model of the string

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, 2006
Abstract It is shown that an infinite gravitational flux tube solution in 5D Kaluza‐Klein gravity with the cross section in the Planck region after 5 D ⇒ 4D reduction and isometrical embedding in a Minkowski spacetime can be considered as a moving infinite string‐like object.
