Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

The Stringent Response in Phototrophs

open access: yes, 2012
Organisms must respond to environmental changes if they are to survive. As a result, species have evolved numerous intracellular and intercellular regulatory systems that often reflect an organism’s environment. In bacteria, one of the most important regulatory systems is the stringent response (Cashel et al., 1996).

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Staphylococcus aureus biofilms: Recent developments in biofilm dispersal

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2014
Staphylococcus aureus is a major cause of nosocomial and community-acquired infections and represents a significant burden on the healthcare system. S. aureus attachment to medical implants and host tissue, and the establishment of a mature biofilm, play

Transcriptome analysis of (p)ppGpp dependent genes during stringent response.

open access: yes, 2012
Transcriptional changes of S. aureus in response to leucine/valine starvation (−leu/val) and the overlap of the two regulons CodY and stringent response.

Intelligent Tutoring Systems for Adult Learning in STEM Disciplines

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) are reshaping adult learning in STEM by providing adaptive, data‐driven instruction across classrooms, workplaces, and informal environments. In the context of ITS, this article compares generative AI, which creates personalized explanations and practice materials, with explainable AI, which focuses on ...

Expression of Shigella flexneri gluQ-rs gene is linked to dksA and controlled by a transcriptional terminator

open access: yesBMC Microbiology, 2012
Background Glutamyl queuosine-tRNAAsp synthetase (GluQ-RS) is a paralog of the catalytic domain of glutamyl-tRNA synthetase and catalyzes the formation of glutamyl-queuosine on the wobble position of tRNAAsp. Here we analyze the transcription of its gene

Stringent Response Regulation of Virulence Factors in Vibrio Cholera

open access: yes, 2016
Vibrio cholerae colonization of the host requires stringent response activation of TCP, the Toxin-Coregulated Pilus Cholera is an epidemic diarrheal disease caused by the Gramnegative bacterium Vibrio cholerae. In order to colonize a host, V.

CX3CL1 in Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease: Plasma Dynamics Across Age and Disease Stages

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid‐beta plaques, tau tangles, and neuroinflammation. C‐X3‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CX3CL1, also known as fractalkine), a neuroimmune chemokine implicated in AD pathogenesis, shows inconsistent alterations in plasma/serum across studies.

Identification and Functional Characterization of Small Alarmone Synthetases in Corynebacterium glutamicum

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
The hyperphosphorylated guanosine derivatives ppGpp and pppGpp represent global regulators of the bacterial stress response, as they act as central elements of the stringent response system.
