One step preparation of pure 𝝉-MnAl phase with high magnetization using strip casting method
Ferromagnetic phase of Mn-Al exhibits great potential in the rare-earth free permanent magnetic materials due to its high magnetocrystalline anisotropy, high magnetization, high Curie temperature and low cost.

Research on calculation model of rolling force in twin roll inclined strip casting process
For the twin roll inclined strip casting process, the tilt angle function is introduced to describe the casting process, and the mathematical model of the calculation of the rolling force coupled with the tilt angle function is proposed, and the ...

Strip casting of stainless steels [PDF]
FLAT PRODUCTS OF STAINLESS STEELS ARE CONVENTIONALLY MANUFACTURED BY CONTINUOUS CASTING, HOT ROLLING, HOT BAND ANNEALING, PICKLING, COLD ROLLING AND RECRYSTALLISATION. IN THE LAST YEARS STRIP CASTING HAS INCREASINGLY ATTRACTED ATTENTION. IT OFFERS THREE IMPROVEMENTS IN COMPARISON TO THE CONVENTIONAL METHOD.1.) IT ALLOWS TO CAST STEEL SHEETS WITH THE ...

Analysis of defects in a twin roll cast Mg‐Y‐Zn magnesium alloy
Twin roll casting (TRC) enables the production of magnesium strips in an economic manner. TRC has enormous potential for the production of thin strip material from magnesium alloys. However, a range of defects may arise during casting.

Strip casting using a roll caster equipped with a scraper [PDF]
An Al-Mg strip without center segregation could be cast using a single-roll caster equipped with a scraper at speed of 40 m/min. The scraper was useful for flattening a free solidified surface and for cooling the solidification layer by pushing the ...

Role of Roll Separating Force in High-Speed Twin-Roll Casting of Aluminum Alloys
The role of the roll separating force in the high-speed twin-roll casting of aluminum alloys was examined. In horizontal-type twin-roll casting, as the casting speed increased upon decreasing the roll separating force, the strip texture changed from a ...

Strip Casting Techniques for Steel.
The concept of casting molten steel directly into strip can be traced to the work of Sir Henry Bessemer. A version of Bessemer's concept can be seen in state-of-the-art continuous casting techniques for large section slabs, and an extension of CC slab casting known as thin slab casting is also nearing commercial use.
