Neuroprotective Effect of Human Placenta-Derived Cell Treatment of Stroke in Rats
Human placenta-derived adherent (PDA001) cells are mesenchymal-like stem cells isolated from postpartum human placenta. In this study, we tested whether intravenously infused PDA001 improves neurological functional recovery after stroke in rats.

Organoid Brain‐Machine‐Interface Devices for Central Nervous System Repair
We envision organoid brain‐machine‐interface (Organoid‐BMI) devices as new biohybrid bidirectional communication pathways to connect the human CNS and the external world for personalized CNS repair and regeneration. ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) repair and regeneration suffer from tremendous clinical challenges due to current limitations in ...

Recurrent Patent Foramen Ovale-Related Cerebral Infarcts Alternately Causing Bilateral Hand Paresis
Isolated hand paresis is a rare presentation of stroke, which mostly results from a lesion in the cortical hand motor area, a knob-like area within the precentral gyrus. I report the case of a patient who experienced recurrent ischemic stroke alternately

An Energy Autonomous Microneedle Array‐Based Sensing System for Continuous Biomarker Monitoring
This work presents an innovative self‐powered wearable biosensor system for real‐time monitoring of multiple biomarkers in interstitial fluid. The device integrates stainless steel‐based minimally invasive microneedles with ion‐selective membranes, enabling simultaneous Na+, K+, Ca2+, pH, and glucose detection.

Advances in Cancer Immunotherapy for Solid Tumors
Cancer immunotherapy for solid tumors is rapidly evolving beyond classical checkpoint blockade toward more precise strategies. Emerging checkpoint targets, bispecific antibodies, antibody–drug conjugate combinations, personalized vaccines, cellular therapies, and engineered cytokines are expanding therapeutic possibilities, while biomarker‐guided ...

This study uncovers that quercetin naturally targets mitochondria. By coordinating quercetin with Fe3+, we engineer an ultrasmall cascade nanozyme (MCN) with superoxide dismutase‐catalase activities. MCN crosses the damaged blood–brain barrier, scavenges mitochondrial ROS, prevents mitochondrial DNA leakage, and blocks the cGAS‐STING pathway, thereby ...

Stroke-like episodes (SLEs) are a hallmark of mitochondrial encephalopathy, lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episode (MELAS) syndrome but occur in other mitochondrial disorders (MIDs) as well. The morphological equivalent of the SLE is the stroke-like lesion (SLL) on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
