On(strongly) regular relations on soft topological hypergroups

open access: yesFilomat
In the first step, we determine some conditions for having a topological complete hypergroup by defining the geometric space obtained from each strongly regular relation. Then applying set theory, we introduce the concepts of ?soft geometric spaces,? ?soft topological hypergroups,? and ?(strongly) regular relations? on soft hypergroups.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Physical Exercise Affects Adipose Tissue Profile and Prevents Arterial Thrombosis in BDNF Val66Met Mice

open access: yesCells, 2019
Adipose tissue accumulation is an independent and modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). The recent CVD European Guidelines strongly recommend regular physical exercise (PE) as a management strategy for prevention and treatment of CVD ...

Selenium deficiency is linearly associated with hypoglycemia in healthy adults

open access: yesRedox Biology, 2020
Objective: The trace element selenium (Se) is needed for regular biosynthesis of selenoproteins, which contribute to antioxidative defense systems and affect redox-regulated signaling.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

The Equivalent Standard Forms of a Class of Tropical Matrices and Centralizer Groups

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, the equivalent standard forms of tropical idempotent strongly definite matrices are introduced. In particular, the observation of the equivalent standard forms of tropical idempotent normal matrices is given.

Viscosity Methods of Asymptotically Pseudocontractive and Asymptotically Nonexpansive Mappings for Variational Inequalities

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
Let {𝑡𝑛}⊂(0,1) be such that 𝑡𝑛→1 as 𝑛→∞, let 𝛼 and 𝛽 be two positive numbers such that 𝛼+𝛽=1, and let 𝑓 be a contraction. If 𝑇 be a continuous asymptotically pseudocontractive self-mapping of a nonempty bounded closed convex subset 𝐾 of a real reflexive ...

Serum visfatin in chronic renal failure patients on maintenance hemodialysis: A correlation study

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Internal Medicine, 2013
Background and aim of work Endothelial dysfunction, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular disease are strongly linked to chronic kidney disease. It has been hypothesized that visfatin may play an important role in uremia-related atherosclerosis and the ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
