The Structural Integrity of Recycled Aggregate Concrete Produced With Fillers and Pozzolans

open access: yes, 2021
The Structural Integrity of Recycled Aggregate Concrete Produced with Fillers and Pozzolans presents a review on the use of by-products, fillers and pozzolanic materials in the development of concrete, with an emphasis on structural integrity. The volume

Hamiltonian Structure and Integrability [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the Hamiltonian structure and integrability. The aim is to use harmonic oscillator in a general framework so that they can be carried over to other more complicated system. The chapter introduces some basic notions that describe the connection between symmetries and conserved quantities.

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Rainbow Trapping of Flexural Waves in Nonuniform Metamaterial Beam Induced by Band Gaps and Interface States

open access: yesShock and Vibration
Rainbow trapping effect, essential for flexural wave energy localization in elastic metamaterials, is typically constrained to a single mechanism with low efficiency.

Heat flux calculation method of modular quartz lamp based on ray tracing method

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao
In order to solve the problem that the heat flow calculation time is so long of modular quartz lamp with reflective screen, a ray tracing method is proposed to calculate the radiant heat flow of modular quartz lamp.

Integrative structure modeling with the Integrative Modeling Platform [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Science, 2017
AbstractBuilding models of a biological system that are consistent with the myriad data available is one of the key challenges in biology. Modeling the structure and dynamics of macromolecular assemblies, for example, can give insights into how biological systems work, evolved, might be controlled, and even designed.

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Composite Bandgap Metamaterial Pipelines Under Fluid Loading: Synergistic Local Resonance and Bragg Scattering for Broadband Vibration Control

open access: yesShock and Vibration
This study proposes a composite bandgap metamaterial pipeline (CBMP) integrating local resonance and Bragg scattering mechanisms for simultaneous vibration and noise suppression in fluid-conveying systems. Through the transfer matrix method (TMM), finite

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
