Clustering of frequency spectrums from different bearing fault using principle component analysis
In studies associated with the defect in rolling element bearing, signal clustering are one of the popular approach taken in attempt to identify the type of defect.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Oxidized nucleotide insertion by pol β confounds ligation during base excision repair
Oxidative stress in cells leads to the oxidations of DNA precursors. Here the authors show that these oxidized precursors can be incorporatedin vivoduring base excision repair, leading to DNA breaks and cytotoxicity.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

INTEGRATED STRUCTURAL SIZING OPTIMIZATION [PDF]
A formulation for structural sizing optimization is presented. The method includes the displacements as state variables and thus integrates the analysis and design process into one combined step. The equilibrium equations are then used as equality constraints in an Augmented Lagrangian formulation. The method currently handles displacement constraints.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Probabilistic Assessment of Structural Integrity
A probability-based approach, combining deterministic and probabilistic methods, was developed for analyzing building and component failures, which are especially crucial for complex structures like nuclear power plants. This method links finite element and probabilistic software to assess structural integrity under static and dynamic loads. This study

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
