Modeling the structure of feathers
Proceedings XIV Brazilian Symposium on Computer Graphics and Image Processing, 2002We present a parametric model for feather modeling in computer graphics. The model is based on Bezier curves and allows easy generation of many feather structures through manipulation of the parameters.

Modeling Underwater Structures
International Journal of Cognitive Informatics and Natural Intelligence, 2008Deliberate exploitation of natural resources and excessive use of environmentally abhorrent materials have resulted in environmental disruptions threatening the life support systems. A human centric approach of development has already damaged nature to a large extent. This has attracted the attention of environmental specialists and policy makers.

Non-parametric Structural Models
2008The interplay between economic theory and econometrics comes to its full force when analysing structural models. These models are used in industrial organization, marketing, public finance, labour economics and many other fields in economics. Structural econometric methods make use of the behavioural and equilibrium assumptions specified in economic ...

Data is spatial if it contains references to space. We can easily detect explicit references, for example coordinates, but we cannot detect whether data implicitly contains references to space, and whether it has properties of spatial data, if additional semantic information is missing.

A family of statistical techniques that has risen in popularity in conjunction with the availability of computing power and software is that of structural equation modelling (SEM). This chapter will provide an introduction to the basic principles of SEM analysis by constructing and fitting an example model.
