Analysis of video data from an unmanned aerial vehicle based on a structural similarity index

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика
The article proposes a metric for the analysis of video data recorded by an unmanned aerial vehicle that uses a structural similarity index for evaluation. The metric consists in comparing frames in terms of brightness, contrast and pixel structure and a

Clustering stability evaluation method based on SSIM

open access: yesJournal of Algorithms & Computational Technology, 2019
In the clustering validity analysis, three main methods including intra-class cohesion, inter-class separation, and artificial judgment index can be used to evaluate the clustering results.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Non-Overlapping Hierarchical Index Structure For Similarity Search

open access: yes, 2008
In order to accelerate the similarity search in highdimensional database, we propose a new hierarchical indexing method. It is composed of offline and online phases. Our contribution concerns both phases. In the offline phase, after gathering the whole of the data in clusters and constructing a hierarchical index, the main originality of our ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Reinforced Residual Encoder–Decoder Network for Image Denoising via Deeper Encoding and Balanced Skip Connections

open access: yesBig Data and Cognitive Computing
Traditional image denoising algorithms often struggle with real-world complexities such as spatially correlated noise, varying illumination conditions, sensor-specific noise patterns, motion blur, and structural distortions.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Structural similarity of lithospheric velocity models of Chinese mainlandKey points

open access: yesEarthquake Science
Existing lithospheric velocity models exhibit similar structures typically associated with the first-order tectonic features, with dissimilarities due to different data and methods used in model generation.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
