Structural stability research council: proceedings 1980

open access: yes, 1980
One of the purposes of the Council is to maintain a forum where structural stability aspects of the behavior of frames, columns and other compression-type elements in metal and compression structures can be presented for evaluation and discussion.

Relating soil C and organic matter fractions to structural stability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Soil organic matter (SOM) is important for maintaining soil structural stability (SSS). The influence of soil organic carbon (SOC) and different organic matter components on various SSS measures were quantified. We used a silt loam soil with a wide range

Hunting Stability of High-Speed Railway Vehicles Under Steady Aerodynamic Loads

open access: yes, 2018
With the rising speed of high-speed trains, the aerodynamic loads become more significant and their influences on the hunting stability of railway vehicles deserve to be considered.

Solving the Amyloid Paradox: Unveiling the Complex Pathogenicity of Amyloid Fibrils

open access: yesAggregate
More than a century ago, it was known that the accumulation of ordered protein aggregates, amyloid fibrils, accompanies several serious and still largely incurable pathologies, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Australasian money demand stability: Application of structural break tests [PDF]

open access: yes
Estimates of the demand for money provide important foundations for monetary policy setting but if the estimation technique does not explicitly account for structural changes then such estimates will be biased.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Periodic Response and Stability of a Maglev System with Delayed Feedback Control Under Aerodynamic Lift

open access: yes, 2021
In this research, the periodic response and stability of a nonlinear maglev system under the combined effects of steady and unsteady aerodynamic lifts is investigated, considering time delay in the feedback control loop.

Effects of waterlogging on the soil structure of some Italian soils in relation to the GAEC cross-compliance standard Maintenance of farm channel networks and field convexity

open access: yesItalian Journal of Agronomy, 2011
The aim of this work is to assess the effectiveness of the cross-compliance standard Maintenance of farm channel networks and field convexity with respect to the environmental objective to maintain soil structure through appropriate measures indicated in
