Transcatheter Bioprosthetic Aortic Valve Dysfunction: What We Know So Far
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is an established alternative to surgical valve replacement for patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and increased surgical risk.

Structural valve deterioration does not alter tissue valves’ radiopaque landmarks: Implications for valve-in-valve therapy [PDF]
Valve-in-valve is established as a safe and efficient alternative to redo surgery in the treatment of structural valve deterioration (SVD). In vitro models rely on the radiopaque landmarks of undeteriorated tissue valves to establish the optimal implantation level of the transcatheter heart valves inside the deteriorated valves.

Application of Probabilistic Neural Networks in Modelling Structural Deterioration of Stormwater Pipes [PDF]
In Australia, when stormwater systems were first introduced over 100 years ago, they\ud were constructed independently of the sewer systems, and they are normally the responsibility\ud of the third level of government, i.e., local government or city ...

Transcatheter Mitral Valve-in-Valve Implantations Using Inverted J-Valve
BackgroundAs bioprosthetic valves are being widely used, the incidence of structural valve deterioration increases, as well as the need for reoperation. Transcatheter mitral valve-in-valve implantations are being increasingly adopted as an alternative to

Younger age and valve oversizing are predictors of structural valve deterioration after pulmonary valve replacement in patients with tetralogy of Fallot [PDF]
ObjectiveWe sought to identify predictors of structural valve deterioration after pulmonary valve replacement in patients with tetralogy of Fallot.MethodsA retrospective review of 227 patients with tetralogy of Fallot who underwent stented bioprosthetic ...

Apicoaortic bypass for a patient with structural valve deterioration of a 19 mm bioprosthetic valve [PDF]
We herein report a case of apicoaortic bypass (AAB) in a 79-year old patient presenting with structural valve deterioration who had undergone an aortic valve replacement with a 19 mm bioprosthetic valve and aortocoronary (A-C) bypass grafting 4 years prior to the AAB. Considering the small diameter of the aortic annulus, the existence of a previous A-C

Long-term structural valve deterioration after TAVI: insights from the EORP ESC Valve Durability TAVI Registry. [PDF]
International audienceBackground: Valve durability is a key consideration as the patient population eligible for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) expands to include lower-risk and younger individuals who are expected to live many years ...
