Structuralism in architecture: a definition

open access: yesJournal of Aesthetics & Culture, 2011
What structuralism in architecture aimed at has often been misunderstood. Structuralism was not about democracy, giving the users of a building the possibility to make changes in it.

Telomerase structure

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Structural Biology, 2014
The telomerase reverse transcriptase has an essential role in telomere maintenance and in cancer biology. Progress during the last year has revealed the three-dimensional architecture of both human and ciliate telomerase at about 25Å resolution, obtained using single particle electron microscopy (EM).

Structured data structures [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications of the ACM, 1974
Programming systems which permit arbitrary linked list structures enable the user to create complicated structures without sufficient protection. Deletions can result in unreachable data elements, and there is no guarantee that additions will be performed properly.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Connection structures.

open access: yesNotre Dame Journal of Formal Logic, 1991
The authors investigate a calculus of individuals based on a primitive notion of connectedness. They show that their system of axioms leads to complete orthocomplemented lattices whereas the extension of their system to the Clarke system leads to complete atomless Boolean algebras [see also \textit{B. Clarke}, ibid. 26, 61-75 (1985; Zbl 0597.03005)].

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Algebraic structuralism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This essay is about how the notion of “structure” in ontic structuralism might be made precise. More specifically, my aim is to make precise the idea that the structure of the world is (somehow) given by the relations inhering in the world, in such a way

From Linguistics to Musicology. Notes on Structuralism Musical Generativism, Cognitive Science, and Philosophy

open access: yesSignata, 2015
Music theory is often inspired by the major trends in theory of meaning, such as the structural and post-structural philosophies and research paradigms in the 20th century.
