Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

The Rise and Effect of Virtual Modalities and Functions on Organizational Leadership: Tracing Conceptual Boundaries Along the E-Management and E-Leadership Continuum

open access: yesTransylvanian Review of Administrative Sciences, 2016
The massive shift to virtual modalities and functions has changed the context of leadership and organizational structures, and thus how leadership is exercised. To date, the fi elds of e-leadership and e-management, or more generally, virtual leadership,

Theories of Atomic Structure [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1920
IN a letter to NATURE (March 11, p. 41) S. C. Bradford stated: “The great objection to Langmuir's theory of atomic structure is the difficulty of accepting his hypothesis of stationary eletrons.” The cases cited are all discussed in G. N. Lewis's paper, “The Atom and the Molecule” (Journ. Amer. Chem. Soc, xxxviii., p.

Rethinking structuration logics in socio-technical transitions theory

open access: yes, 2022
This paper revisits the multi-level perspective (MLP) of socio-technical transition theory from the point of view of one of its early foundations, Giddens’ theory of structuration.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Sociological Explanation of the Relationship between Social Trust and Social Tolerance Based on Giddens’ Structuration Theory [PDF]

open access: yesتوسعه اجتماعی, 2018
In the theory of structuration, Giddens believes that structures facilitate the actions and also can not be reproduced without the agencies. The assumption of this study is that social trust and its dimensions (basic, interpersonal and institutional) can

The pyruvate generator is a common phenomenon in mitochondria from different rat and mouse brain regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The pyruvate generator, which causes activation of respiration by extra‐mitochondrial Ca2+, is also present and functional in rat brainstem mitochondria, as it is in other brain regions. This finding is confirmed by experiments with a fully reconstituted malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS).

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
