DiffNMR: diffusion models for nuclear magnetic resonance spectra elucidation

open access: yesMaterials Futures
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a key method for molecular structure elucidation. However, interpreting NMR spectra to deduce molecular structures remains challenging due to the complexity of spectral data and the vastness of the ...

Structure determination of a 4-pyrone from the liverwort Plagiochila bifaria (Sw.) Lindenb. (Plagiochilaceae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The centenary of the presentation in 1907 of the "polyketide" hypothesis by Collie, along with his use of a 4-pyrone as an example, is marked by reporting the discovery and isolation of 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenethyl)-6-methyl-4-pyrone from <i> ...

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Evaluation of antioxidant activity and identification of main compounds of various extracts of Artemisia turanica aerial parts [PDF]

open access: yesResearch Journal of Pharmacognosy, 2017
Background and objectives: Artemisia turanica Krash. grows wildly in north-eastern Iran. The aim of the present work was to undertake an investigation of the antioxidant activity as well as identification of main compound of different extracts and ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Identification of biomarkers of colitis to monitor effects of dietary omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in the interleukin-10 gene-deficient mouse model of inflammatory bowel diseases : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Nutritional Science at Massey University, Manawatū, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are characterised by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract including the colon (colitis). Increased dietary intake of salmon, which is rich in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), was well tolerated by IBD patients,

Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.

Overexpression of CDT1 inhibits cell cycle progression at S phase by interacting with the mini‐chromosome maintenance complex and causes DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CDT1 is an essential protein for DNA replication licensing that loads the MCM complex, the eukaryotic replicative DNA helicase, onto replication origins. Overexpression of CDT1 induces cell cycle arrest at the S phase. Here we showed CDT1 inhibits the progression of replication forks by interacting with the MCM complex, leading to the stalling and ...

A mass spectrometry-guided genome mining approach for natural product peptidogenomics. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Peptide natural products show broad biological properties and are commonly produced by orthogonal ribosomal and nonribosomal pathways in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
