Structural and sensitivity reanalyses based on singular value decomposition

open access: yesStructural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, 2013
The structural and sensitivity reanalysis of a structure subjected to modifications has a significant practical value. If the structural modifications result in low rank changes in the associated system matrices, the reanalysis of a structure could be completed with a computational load that is less than that of the complete analysis of the structure ...

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Exploring Tensor-Based Optimization for Missing EEG Signal Recovery: A Comparative Study of Optimization Methods Across Different Tensor Decomposition Frameworks

open access: yesIEEE Access
Electroencephalography (EEG) signals are frequently compromised by missing data due to electrode contact issues or subject movement. Tensor decomposition has emerged as a powerful technique for analyzing multidimensional EEG data.

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Numerical Computation of Lower Bounds of Structured Singular Values

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2018
In this article we consider the numerical approximation of lower bounds of Structured Singular Values, SSV. The SSV is a wellknown mathematical quantity which is widely used to analyse and syntesize the robust stability and instability analysis of linear feedback systems in control theory.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Computational Complexity of Real Structured Singular Value in l_p Setting

open access: yes, 1998
This paper studies a generalized real structured singular value (¯) problem where uncertain parameters are bounded by an ` p norm. Two results are presented. The first one shows that this generalized ¯ problem is NP-hard for any given rational number p 2

Bounded real lemma and structured singular value versus diagonal scaling: the free noncommutative setting

open access: yes, 2016
The structured singular value (often referred to simply as μ) was introduced independently by Doyle and Safonov as a tool for analyzing robustness of system stability and performance in the presence of structured uncertainty in the system parameters ...

Microstructure‐Controlled Crack Propagation and Fracture Resistance in MoSiBTiC Alloy Revealed by Multiscale Extended Finite Element Method Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

Generalized Numerical Range and the Computation of the Structured Singular Value.

open access: yes, 1987
The concept of structured singular value was recently introduced by Doyle (Proc. IEE, vol. 129, pp. 242-250, 1982) as a tool for the analysis and synthesis of feedback systems with structured uncertainties.
