Modelling the stability of Stx lysogens
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2007Shiga-toxin-converting bacteriophages (Stx phages) are temperate phages of Escherichia coli, and can cause severe human disease. The spread of shiga toxins by Stx phages is directly linked to lysogen stability because toxins are only synthesized and released once the lytic cycle is initiated.

P2M-1 COM Parameters of STX Quartz and STX+25 Quartz
2006 IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium, 2006Dispersion curves for STX Quartz and for STX+25 Quartz are calculated by modified FEMSDA program. All the basic COM parameters are extracted from calculated dispersion curves. In particular, the phase velocity in the center of the stopband, reflectivity, transduction coefficient per electrode and directionality are determined for 0.1 les w/p les 0.9 ...

VINE, 2003
Examines the need for structured text (STX), explains its format – simple or hierarchical structures and other conventions, lists its benefits and limitations, and delinates usage scenarios and products. Concludes that many Web services could benefit from STX, if only as a stepping‐stone to more advanced systems.

ST8Sia-II (STX) belongs to a family of α2-8-sialyltransferases, and exhibits polysialic acid synthase activity like ST8Sia-IV (see Chap. 48). The cDNAs encoding ST8Sia-II have been cloned from rat (Livingston and Paulson 1993), mouse (Kojima et al. 1995a), human (Scheidegger et al. 1995; Angata et al. 1997), and Xenopus (Kudo et al. 1998).

STX-liposome conjugates as candidate vaccines
Drugs of Today, 2003Infection with Shiga toxin-producing (Stx) Escherichia coli (STEC) currently represents a serious public health problem due to its life-threatening complications: hemorrhagic colitis and hemolytic uremic syndrome. An inability to induce neutralizing antibody in response to primary STEC infection has been reported in STEC-infected humans.
