Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi drive bacterial community assembly in halophyte Suaeda salsa

Microbiological Research
Halophytes inhabit saline soils, wherein most plants cannot grow, therefore, their ecological value is outstanding. Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi can reconstruct microbial communities to assist plants with stress tolerance. However, little information is available on the microbial community assembly of AM fungi in halophytes.

Combined genome and transcriptome provides insight into the genetic evolution of an edible halophyte Suaeda salsa adaptation to high salinity

Molecular Ecology
Suaeda salsa L. is a typical halophyte with high value as a vegetable. Here, we report a 447.98 Mb, chromosomal‐level genome of S. salsa, assembled into nine pseudomolecules (contig N50 = 1.36 Mb) and annotated with 27,927 annotated protein‐coding genes.

Ensemble habitat suitability model predicts Suaeda salsa distribution and resilience to extreme climate events.

Journal of Environmental Management
Climate anomalies lead to an increased occurrence of extreme temperature and drought events in coastal wetlands, resulting in heightened survival pressure on salt marsh plants.

Structural characterization and hypolipidemic activity of a natural polysaccharide from Suaeda salsa L.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Herein, the identification and analysis of a newly discovered hypolipidemic polysaccharide extracted from Suaeda salsa L., SS3-N1, is reported. The weight-average molecular weight (Mw), number-average molecular weight (Mn), and dispersity (Ð) of SS3-N1 ...

Suaeda salsa in Relation to Hydrological Connectivity: From the View of Plant Trait Networks

Journal of Environmental Informatics
How plant traits respond to environment changes has been given more concerns worldwide. However, it is hard to reveal the integrative responses of plants only based on independent plant traits without considering the close links among plant traits. Plant

Distribution of habitat suitability for Suaeda salsa in the Liaohe River Estuary and its relationship with carbon storage.

Science of the Total Environment
Suaeda salsa acts as a natural barrier between land and sea in estuarine wetlands while also serving as a significant source of carbon storage.

Karyological and morphological variability of Suaeda salsa (L.) Pall. in Bulgaria

2022
The karyological and morphological intrapopulation and interpopulation variability of Suaeda salsa populations in Bulgaria have been studied in quest of reliable characteristics to distinguish the species from the remaining members of the genus. In all studied populations a tetraploid chromosome number 2n = 36 and a karyotype of metacentric and ...
